Day 29 - 6 Days left, 7 States to go.

We left the campground around 12, and didn't have to pay since none of the services were available due to power outage, and the Office was closed. (This unfortunately meant no laundry, showers, or electric heat for the night). We stopped by "The Largest Filing Cabinet in the World." It was kinda neat, but nothing too special. We also stopped in a few shops in an attempt to find a Burlington button for our collection, but had little luck. We picked up some Vermont Maple Syrup, and headed out.
We made it to Waterbury around 2:30 as it was a short drive, and got lost somehow on Keurig's campus. It just so happens that Kylie's (name changed) house is practically on their property, and Google took us through their parking lot in a failed attempt to find herdriveway. We parked and got set up, and Sarah and Kylie went on a hike nearby, while I finished up work in the RV.
After work, I hit the walk-in clinic to try to get my ear looked at, but they advised me that it was unlikely my insurance would cover the visit, and they only had doctors there, no nurses or anything cheap, so they estimated my visit would be well over 200$. I opted to wait it out a few more days, as I'm not in pain, just can't hear. I'm hoping it will go away on its own, otherwise we'll be in MA in a few days, and I can go to a cheap clinic there for under 50$. It was discouraging, but alas.
Kylie made us some tasty dinner, and we played some games while drinking a few local beers before heading to sleep. She was kind enough to let us plug in to the garage, so we had power and electric heat.
Today we're hitting Ben and Jerry's before pressing onward towards Maine. The RV did better on the ride here, with minimal noise. I'm nearly certain it is our right brake drum making the noise, and either needs a new brake shoe, or just to be tightened. Unfortunately, every-single-shop in the area is booked for weeks, as it is snow tire season here apparently. We couldn't get the brakes serviced at all. And on top of this, just about every-single-campground east of here is closed for the season. Thus, it is looking like we won't quite make it to Bar Harbor this trip, as we'll have no place to stay outside of a Walmart, which barely seems worth it. Plus, the massive wind storm that has come through has torn down most of the leaves, even while they were still green in parts, which takes away a good chunk of the reason for going up there in the first place. We have six days left, and we're going to make the most of them.
